Great tasting food served with cheer at very reasonable prices at times when other tavernas still closed.
We got hungry in late afternoon but discovered that many tavernas don't reopen until 8pm.
Then we came across this gem on the waterfront.
We were greeted with a smile and made felt welcome.
There were some items on the menu that just made us smile: "large variety of meat", "big glass of beer", and "variety of seafood".
We opted for grilled seabass (it literally is just that so I asked for chips/French fries with it) and the Risotto with Shrimps.
We started with tzatziki which was served to us along with delicious lightly grilled bread sprinkled with herbs.
Alas the big glass of beer wasn't available so settled for half a litre of bottled Mamos (!).
Everything - every single dish was superbly flavourful.
This taverna surpassed our expectations in every way.
Then came the bill...
You know you've found a fantastic place when the staff make up for a late arriving second drink with not only several unsolicited apologies but also removing it from bill unasked.
Wow.

Fabulous restaurant with the best seafood we’ve had in Greece so far. Service was great with extras thrown in. We enjoyed it so much that we came back the next night! What a view right on the waterfront!!

One of the most hospitable and attentive restaurants in Spetses! The portions were huge, generous, and truly delicious. They also offered complimentary treats, which was a lovely touch. Throughout the meal, Joseph constantly checked in to make sure everything was going well. He wasn’t just our server—he brought genuine warmth, making us feel part of the local vibe. The food is incredible - best sea food I had in Greece. We had the fried anchovies (absolutely gorgeous), the shrimp in garlic sauces (my partner was over the moon with this choice) and we had the mixed sea food platter. The portions are very generous and the prices are great!
100% recommend this place!

We came based on other reviews. The place lives up to its reputation: very friendly family business and staff, fantastic quality and portions, great view. We got the grilled shrimp, shrimp paella (bit and generous shrimps), khorta (which was unusually bitter... it's ok), grilled bread, and fresh french fries (which was great as well). Acceptable prices. Highly recommended.

The food was absolutely amazing. Every dish was a testament to the kitchen's skill and commitment to fresh, high-quality ingredients. What truly elevated our experience, however, was the service, thanks to the wonderful Mr. Makis. He provided top-quality service that was attentive, professional, and genuinely welcoming. We highly recommend Ostria for its outstanding food and impeccable service.

Excellent Food at great Prices! The variety of Seafood dish was top notch! Owner is very nice and even gave us free watermelon at the end of our dinner!

My fiancé had the sea bass, which was equally impressive: fresh, perfectly cooked, and full of flavor.

Super friendly staff. Great sea food and homemade dishes. Do try the many ways they do pasta. Do try the grilled calamari, fresh fish (we had Dorada), fried squid, go fo appetisers (feta saganaki, tzatziki). If you’re super lucky ask for stuffed cabage rolls (sarmale) they do them from time to time and we were lucky enough to dine at the right time.

It’s located right in front of the sea. We had the Greek salad which was delicious, the tzatziki was excellent and the pasta with shrimps is exactly what I had been looking for in Greece! Excellent! I’ve been to a few restaurants in Athens and either the portions were tiny or there were barely 2 or 3 shrimps. Here the meal was huge and there were so many shrimps it was hard to finish the meal! The grilled octopus was also really good and cooked to perfection. Price wise this is probably the cheapest place we’ve found in Spetses so far, most of the others were ridiculously overpriced. Oh and the owner is incredibly sweet, this is how a restaurant should be service-wise. We also got some complimentary dessert.

Absolutely, it is a good restaurant. Fresh grilled fish for far less than other places on Spetses. Charming Owner is hands on. Then works the place all evening. A real gem. The grilled fish is unbeatable, huge portion..

Hands down the best seafood I had in Spetses—fresh, delicious, and fairly priced. The view was stunning, the atmosphere relaxing, and the service truly outstanding. The staff were so warm and kind, I instantly felt at home. I absolutely fell in love with this place.

We had a wonderful experience at Ostria. The food was fresh and delicious, and you can enjoy it with a beautiful view of the sea. The staff were very fast and friendly, and in the end the owner even offered us free desert and fruits. Highly recommend to anyone looking to enjoy good food in Spetses and especially seafood.
